About
Enough Adoption Foundation was founded from a deeply personal journey of belonging, healing, and purpose. Built by an adoptee, for adoptees and their families, our community exists to create a safe space where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered. Through education, advocacy, and support, we’re redefining what it means to be “enough” — encouraging adoptees of all ages to embrace their stories, find connection, and thrive in their wholeness.
We believe every adoptee deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered to define their own story.
Our Mission
Established in 2025, our mission is to advocate for the empowerment, well- being, and rights of adoptees and their respective families through education, outreach, support services, and policy initiatives. Enough Adoption Foundation is dedicated to promoting safe, nurturing environments for all adoptees while strengthening family systems by providing genetic, medical and mental health resources, awareness of social and systemic issues affecting vulnerable populations, education for search and identification processes, and collaboration with community stakeholders to drive positive change.

Our Vision
A world where every adoptee and family is empowered, supported, and connected—thriving in communities that honor their stories, protect their rights, and nurture their full potential.
Our Founder
Founder & Executive Director, Mia Dickerson created Enough Adoption Foundation to fill a void she recognized in her own life and within the adoption community. As an adoptee, she spent years navigating her own complexities with identity, belonging, grief and associated trauma — experiences that inspired her to build a supportive network for others walking similar paths. Mia brings her professional background in consulting and her natural gift for community building to this mission of empowerment, advocacy, and connection.

The Legacy of
Margie Hampton
Mia’s mother, Margie Hampton, was a pioneer in adoption advocacy and social work. She founded one of Fairfax County’s first adoption programs, focusing on placing children of color in loving, culturally aligned homes. Her compassion, leadership, and belief in every child’s worth laid the foundation for Enough’s mission. Unfortunately, Margie Hampton lost her battle to cancer in November 2003. Today, Mia continues her mother’s legacy — expanding that vision into a modern, inclusive movement for adoptees everywhere.
